My Favorite "R" Things

Here they are...in no particular order...My top ten favorite things that start with "R". Joey gave me mine, and if you would like to play, leave me a comment and I will give you a letter! Hope you enjoy!

1. Riesling wine--just so smooth and tasty!

2. R&R--Rest and Relaxation...nothing I enjoy more than hanging out at home in comfy sweats!
3. Roadhouse, Texas--Who can honestly resist those rolls?! Yumm :)

4. Reading--Right now I am completely obsessed with the Twilight series! I started reading the books over the summer, and with all the craziness of working...I am still reading Eclipse! Don't spoil the ending for me!!5. Reality TV--You name it, I love it! American Idol, The Bachelor, America's Next Top Model, The Hills, Survivor, True Beauty, and the list goes on...

6. Raspberry--I love the flavor in almost anything! I love it even more than strawberry or cherry!

7. Red--The color of my first car, the decor in our living room/kitchen, and just wearing red clothes!

8. Rascal Flatts--Love them and their songs! One of the best concerts I have ever been to!
9. Red-nosed pitbulls--Only because my beloved Colby is one! (and because they get a bad-rep as ALL being bad!)

10. Redecorating--Or just decorating! Either way, I love to think about redesigning our house and driving M nuts with all of my ideas!

SNOW DAY!

ANOTHER snow day! But this time the snow is for real! (not just cold weather) We have a little less than a foot of snow! I attempted to shovel the driveway so I could get out for a little bit, but that didn't work out so well...that snow is HEAVY!! I think shoveling gave me more of a workout than when I go to the gym....hmm :o\

Well I am currently working on my list of "R" things, thanks to Joey. Hopefully I will come up with some good things before the day is over.

Stay warm and hopefully we will have school tomorrow!! :o)

Relaxing Weekend

This weekend was quite relaxing and nice for a change! M surprised me and came home EARLY on Friday from his trip to Dallas! I was excited and we spent the night catching up and of course playing the Wii. He THOUGHT he was going to come back to a pro-Wii bowler/tennis player/MarioKart of a wife....but that sure didn't happen! I didn't even turn the thing on the WHOLE week!
I won't bore you with the details of our relaxing (i.e. nothing-happening) weekend. It was just nice to have nothing to do for a change. I enjoy being as lazy as possible on Sunday afternoons, trying my best to not get out of my PJ's. :o) I kept telling myself that I would post, but I just couldn't pull myself away from the couch for long enough. I also was quite happy to see that Juno has made it onto our HBO On Demand, so of course I had to watch that! (so funny!)
Our area is supposed to get some snow tonight, and I can't help but hope for at least a 2-hr delay!! I know it's kind of pathetic, but honestly I would LOVE to sleep in sometime this week...I think I got a little TOO used to a couple of weeks ago! Ok, I better get some things done before my Monday night line-up comes on! I can't wait to see who Jason sends home this week on The Bachelor....as long as it isn't:
Melissa...
or Molly...
and if Jason really wanted to make me happy...he would eliminate Shannon! (seriously, telling him every detail of his OWN life is only going to FREAK him out! C'mon girl...please tell me you are just kidding!?!)

Proud to be an American

As cheesy, overused, and corny as it may sound, I truly feel proud to be an American today. As you may know, I am not a very "political" person, nor do I really follow politics or enjoy it for that matter, however today was truly remarkable to live & witness. With students in tow, we watched the Inauguration ceremonies of the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. It was definetely something new to me, to witness such a enormous event in history. As I spoke with some of my teacher friends and we discussed whether or not 8 year olds are capable of understanding something of this importance, I realized I had never witnessed such an event in my lifetime. Watching the Inauguration, I couldn't help but get goosebumps thinking of what a huge impact this day will forever hold in history. I could care less about the political issues that we will be faced to deal with tomorrow. What I do find awe-inspiring though, is the feeling of pride in our country that is being celebrated today. Despite political parties, I felt that our country was truly in the spotlight for something POSITIVE today...how exciting for a change! On a less serious note....could those girls BE any cuter?

Good luck and God Bless Obama family!

Whooo hooo 4 day weekend!

After a fairly successful day with a little shopping, cleaning, and relaxing I got another wonderful phone call tonight.....yep, you guessed it! ANOTHER snow day for tomorrow! WHHHOOOO HOOO to a four and a half day weekend! I'm currently celebrating (M's birthday AND my day off) with a glass of wine, while M stresses about the Purdue basketball game. Hopefully they win, so I can coax him into letting me watch Grey's on HIS birthday! hmm..... :)
I think I have TOO much time on my hands....2 posts in only 1 day?!? Did I mention I LOVE my job :)

Happy Birthday M!

Happy 26th Hubby!

I love you!

Today you can even wear your birthday suit! (Just be careful in this -23 degree wind chill!!) haha

High of -1 Degrees?

Wouldn't that be considered an oxymoron? A HIGH temperature of -1 degrees for tomorrow is not what I call fun!
However, I guess I have good reason to be excited for the artic weather. Today started out ok-no 2 hr delay-but it can't happen EVERY day right? No fear...we had an early release instead, much to the delight of my 2nd graders. I guess I wasn't too disappointed either :) So I got to come home and get some things done around the house, get dinner started, and catch up on our DVR shows. After dinner, M and I sat down to watch Fracture (his pick) and around 7:30 pm I got a nice little phone call from school. Thinking it could only mean one thing, a 2 hr delay for tomorrow, I wasn't too excited. But much to my dismay, the voice on the other end told me school has been CANCELLED for tomorrow! Whoo hoo! There is just something about being a teacher that will absolutely never get old....who can honestly resist hearing that great news? It's like the excitement you have when you are actually a student, but even better because I actually get paid for it now :)

So now I have the night to relax (what's new), watch American Idol (yes I know), and decide my plan of attack for tomorrow?? Oh, and did I mention tomorrow is M's birthday? So I get HIS birthday off work and he still has to go! Yeah....he's jealous of my career choice :)

Any ideas of what I should to fill my (freezing cold) day off from work?

Viva Las Vegas

So far...not so good! I'm trying to keep up with this blog, but there has been a LOT happening lately! Right after my first post, M suprised me with a trip to VEGAS! We left a few days after Christmas and came back NYE. This was my first trip to Vegas and I was in L-O-V-E!! I think I drove M a little crazy by singing "Viva LAS VEGAS" a little TOO much on the way there...oh well, it was HIS idea right? :) Even with the freezing weather (well for Vegas) at least, the lights, sounds, and craziness was so much fun! We had a great time and I feel fortunate to have such an amazing husband! I won't bore you to death with all (200) of my pictures, but here are a few from our trip!

Watching the Bellagio fountains!

Ahh....the view I woke up to in the morning :)

Our hotel, Planet Hollywood

Since it was right after Christmas, the Bellagio was still all decked out...and I was in awe of the amazing sights! These cute snowmen are made of fresh flowers...and that is only a sneak peek!
